August 26, 2008 – WND Story: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=73428
On a night when I sat and reluctantly listened to what Sen. Clinton had to say at the DNC about Barrack Obama as well what was to be expected, a bashing of the current Bush Administration and John McCain, I could not feel but a bit of disgust that as we near the end of President Bush’s eight years in office his legacy will be sorely tarnished by two things – Iraq and the obsession he has had since 2002 to divide Jerusalem and give the Palestinians a “state” along side Israel in hopes of salvaging Middle East peace. I like President Bush; voted for him twice without hesitation or thought and feel even to this day he has had to deal with more probably than any other United States President in recent memory. Even my favorite President, Ronald Reagan, did not have to deal with a terrorist attack on our own soil, two unpopular wars, an earthquake in the economy after 9-11 that we still have never recovered from, a hostile news media ready to pounce on every mistake you make, natural disaster after natural disaster including the costliest U.S. hurricane in history – a female named KATRINA. ALL of President Bush’s issues have been tied prophetically to his handling of Israel as has all his predecessors before hand. Jerusalem will be forever the capital of Israel and in God’s sight which is really the most important issue of all. When we touch Jerusalem, be it as a nation, an individual, or even Israel’s leaders themselves, neighbor we are messing with the city that has God’s name written on it. There are still many in the Church that believe in Replacement Theology, or the idea that somehow the church has replaced Israel in God’s dealings with humanity and thus, Israel as a nation has no importance in the divine plan of end time events. With this in mind, these same people usually believe that any effort to divide Jerusalem or push Israel into catastrophic land deals with the Palestinians have no effect or response of Divine judgment attached to them for the nations who do such. According to the WND story, plans are on the table to begin the dividing of Jerusalem as early as September but more than likely in early January 2009 prior to President Bush leaving office. Quoting from the WND Story: “Condoleezza Rice, completing a visit to the region today, has been pressing Israel to sign a document by the end of the year that would divide Jerusalem by offering the Palestinians a state in Israel’s capital city as well as in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, according to top diplomatic sources involved in the talks. The Israeli team, led by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, has been negotiating the division of Jerusalem – despite claims to the contrary – but would rather conclude an agreement on paper by the end of the year that would give the Palestinians a state in the West Bank, Gaza and some Israeli territory, leaving conclusions on Jerusalem for a later date, the informed diplomatic sources told WND. The sources said the Palestinian team has been pushing to conclude a deal by January on all core issues, including Jerusalem, and has been petitioning the U.S. to pressure Israel into signing an agreement on paper that offers the Palestinians eastern Jerusalem. Rice, the sources said, has asked Israeli leaders to bend to what the U.S. refers to as a “compromise position,” concluding an Israeli-Palestinian agreement by the end of the year that guarantees sections of Jerusalem to the Palestinians. But Israel would not be required to withdraw from Jerusalem for a period of one to five years.” Well, that is mighty white of you Ms. Rice to allow Israel to stay in her capital city for a period of one to five years. This pressure is nothing new from the Palestinians and America to be frank going all the way back to 1991 when land for peace initiatives began in earnest under Bush 41. The differenc in this scenario being reported in WND is that in no time in the past has ISRAEL been ready to give up Jerusalem even though world opinion and outcry has asked her to do just that. The weak character and spine of Ehud Olhmert along with American pressure has brought the entire peace process to a dangerous crossroads where both Israel and America are going against the will of God for His Holy City. As I write these words a monster storm named “Gustav” is brewing in the Caribbean and headed into the Gulf of Mexico. Some forecasters are predicting this storm could become a Category 5 before it hits land somewhere in the United States early next week after Labor Day. It has been almost like setting our watches to see events like this take place each time America moves in earnest to do what she is doing right now. The Bush Administration should be ashamed of itself for such actions its embarking on. As we near new elections in November things ARE about to change in this nation but I’m afraid change is going to be for the worse. One of the KEYS to either John McCain or Barrack Obama’s presidencies will be their handling of this unique situation surrounding Israel and the issue of Jerusalem. More on this in the days to come. For now, keep your eyes on Jerusalem and for those folks in the Gulf Coast Region of our nation – keep your eyes on Gustav. Gustav may be 2008’s Katrina which should be noted hit the United States less than 36 hours after President Bush pressured Ariel Sharon to give up Israel’s control of the Gaza Strip. Did peace come to Israel as promised by President Bush in 2005? Not a chance. Will peace come to the MIddle East if Israel divides Jerusalem in 2009? NOT A CHANCE. What will take place is there will be a Divine response to these actions if they continue and neighbor as the saying goes, “when God writes a check of judgement, that is one check no one wants to nor can they ever cash!” Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
