When They Say “Peace and Safety News reports coming out of Jerusalem this first full week of the New Year indicate a continued dedication and determination of the Israeli government of Ehud Ohlmert to divide Jerusalem as a ways and means to peace with the Palestinians.
This a very disturbing omen and rumble of prophetic thunder as we watch events in the Middle East continue to unfold and herald the soon coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. President Bush’s recent trip to Jerusalem only underscored a growing American element to these decisions that will have both temporal and eternal consequences for both America and Israel. Jerusalem is not Israel’s to divide;
Jerusalem belongs to GOD! There have been scores of warning judgments sent by God through the last two decades to both America and Israel to warn against such action but those warnings seemingly are being ignored by this current Israeli leadership.
As we mentioned in a previous post, America has just experienced one of its weirdest weeks of January weather in nearly 50 years as nearly 75 winter-time tornadoes raged across the Midwest and South. The Lord’s warning that we shall “reap the whirlwind,” took on tremendously new meaning but sadly without the attention of any one who matters. Hear what the Spirit of God said through the Apostle Paul 2,000 years ago that He is saying to us today: “When they ‘SAY’ peace and safety, then SUDDEN destruction will come on them as a woman in travail.” 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3.
Many politicians, including many here in America claim that if Israel would just hand over Jerusalem all the terrorism in the Middle East would stop. IT WILL NOT. The battle for Jerusalem is rooted in an ancient hatred between the sons of Esau and the sons of Jacob (Islam vs. Israel) and in the minds of most Muslims will not cease till every Jew and Christian are removed from the face of the earth and Israel as a nation no longer exists.
Islam claims Jerusalem not because Jerusalem is holy in the thinking of the Koran and Muslims, but if Jerusalem can be captured then Mohammed’s prophecies will be seen as being fulfilled and the God of Christianity and Israel will be seen as a lie. I can ASSURE you neighbor the LATTER will NEVER and I mean NEVER be true.
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is NOT a man that He should LIE or repent of what He does nor apologize for Who He is. He is the GOD of all men – both Jew and Gentile – and commands us ALL to repent and be saved before it is eternally too late. The Palestinians will not cease from terrorism if Jerusalem is handed over as they claim.
War is coming to the Middle East in the near future. I say that with a solemn heart knowing the consequences of such events and what the Word of God says about coming end time events. It’s getting late friend and we need to be alert and watching for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The rapture could take place at ANY moment. Preachers have stopped preaching about it, backslidden saints have stopped believing it and an apostate church has stopped concerning itself with such.
Let me assure you that the next great event on God’s prophetic time table is the Rapture of the Church! It’s sad to see how hard demonically inspired men who call themselves preachers of the gospel have tried to stamp out the entire doctrine from the discourse of the church. If two-thirds of all Biblical content centers on end time eschatology would it not make common sense for us to realize that we as God’s children are not to be in the dark about these events? It is the heart of God we KNOW what is ahead in these last days. As the Holy Ghost said through Paul, we are “of the light,” not of the dark! It’s getting late neighbor and its harvest time. Don’t be wooed by the false predictions of peace – be them from politicians or preachers. “When they SAY” peace and safety, sudden destruction shall come upon them as travail upon a woman. We are hearing such false promises in this hour we live and neighbor let this writer assure you – NO PEACE is coming to the Middle East no matter what the politicians say or declare.
In the news today
PARIS – Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday that Israel and the Palestinians have never been closer to a peace deal than now.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, standing with Olmert at the French presidential palace, said both sides are “serious and want to achieve peace.”
Meanwhile, Olmert also said Sunday that Israel hopes to have direct contacts with Syria soon. The rival neighbors have been holding indirect talks mediated by Turkey.
Olmert and Abbas held talks Sunday with French President Nicolas Sarkozy ahead of a sweeping summit launching the Union for the Mediterranean, bringing together leaders of some 40 nations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“We have never been as close to a possible (peace) agreement as today,” Olmert told reporters.
Repeated rounds of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks since a peace conference in Annapolis, Md., last year have produced little movement.
But the atmosphere was friendly when Olmert and Abbas posed on the steps of the Elysee Palace with Sarkozy in the center, arms linked.
Olmert’s domestic troubles, meanwhile, have clouded peace efforts. Law enforcement officials announced the widening of the corruption investigation against olmert. The ongoing investigations threaten his political survival and will make it more difficult at least in the short term to make major steps toward peace.
Palestinian negotiator Saeed Erekat said Sunday that those troubles were not affecting current discussions. He said Israeli and Palestinian officials would review the status of negotiations on the sidelines of the Paris summit, discussig Israel settlement activity, the Gaza border and Palestinian prisoner releases.
Syria’s President Bashar Assad said Sunday that talks with Israel could move toward direct contact but suggested that would not happen until there is a new U.S. president in place.
Kind of says it all…Just like you are saying. I and my wife have been in a backslidden state and just recently have returned to church and rededicated our lives to Christ. This is a difficult thing for us as we have grown quite accustom to living wayward. Lazy and not reading our Bibles daily. I for one do NOT want to miss the “TRAIN.” Please pray for us and send us info on how to be READY.
Sincerely ART WASHBURN
Amen. God bless Israel. God bless us Americans to stand against this.
